Art Made Between Opposite Sides: AMBOS, was founded by craft-based artist Tanya Aguiñiga during the 2016 elections. AMBOS is a femme-led binational artists collaborative project that works along the entirety of the U.S./Mexico Border as a platform for addressing current regional issues affecting vulnerable populations through craft, care and nurture. AMBOS’ trauma-informed ceramics program works in three LGBTQ+ Asylum and Refugee Shelters in Tijuana, Mexico.

AMBOS’s border interventions, collaborations, and programs are centered in generative femme decolonial practices to build community accountability, binational migrant support systems through craft, and advocate for pro-migrant narrative change in the U.S. and Mexico.
