Risë Wilson
Risë Wilson founded The Laundromat Project, a nonprofit that connects artists and communities by mounting public art programs in New York City laundromats. She recently joined the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation as the inaugural director of philanthropy.
Why we love Risë Wilson:
• Risë re-designed laundromats throughout New York City as arts hubs and community gathering spaces, founding one of our favorite organizations
• She was named one of “The World’s Best Emerging Social Entrepreneurs” in 2004 by the Echoing Green Foundation
• In addition to her many other roles, she has served as a consultant to other non-profits and taught at the Parsons School of Design, helping product-design students apply their talents to the public sphere
