Chanel L. Porchia founded Ancient Song Doula Services (ASDS) to address infant and maternal mortality with a focus on women of color, low income families, and immigrant populations. Based in Bedford-Stuyvesant, ASDS offers a full-spectrum of quality labor and postpartum doula services as well as culturally and linguistically appropriate educational classes. ASDS aims to empower all women regardless of their socio-economic status and build economic sustainability by creating an independent workforce of individuals who are interested in shifting outcomes in infant and maternal health.
