Achille Mbembe is the Editor of The Johannesburg Salon and a Convenor of The Johannesburg Workshop in Theory and Criticism (JWTC). He is the author of many books on African history, theory, and politics including his now classic On the Postcolony and Critique de la raison negre. Originally written in French, his work has been translated in many languages (English, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese). His forthcoming book, La pharmacie de Fanon, will appear in 2016 in Paris.
