Chris Kraus
“If coincidence is charmed, can chance be fatal? When you don’t know what to do, you look for signs.”
Chris Kraus is a writer, critic, and editor whose works transcend autobiography, fiction, philosophy, and art criticism. Her vigorous yet vulnerable novels — I Love Dick, Aliens & Anorexia, Torpor and Summer of Hate — have attracted cult followings across the world. She is a co-editor of the influential publishing house Semiotext(e) and writes frequently on art and culture for various magazines. The New Yorker has described Kraus’ work as “an uncannily coherent landscape, a kind of hyperintellectual, hypersexual, digital-era Yoknapatawpha that moves back and forth across the Atlantic, across the Mexican border, across the Soviet bloc”.
