Anca Benera and Arnold Estefan

Anca Benera and Arnold Estefan have collaborated since 2012 and are based between Bucharest, Romania and Vienna, Austria. Their research-driven practice explores concealed patterns within historical, social, and geopolitical narratives through installation, video, and performance. Their projects often focus on the relationship between environmental history and resource politics, exploring how military imagination shapes landscapes, climates, and communities. They address the global ecological crisis by weaving stories of non-human protagonists and fostering interconnectedness among humans, minerals, plants, and animals. Their works have been exhibited worldwide, recently including Manifesta 15, Barcelona; n.b.k, Berlin; Migros Museum, Zurich; and Whitechapel in London.
